Abstract:
The contributions to two conferences commemorating the signing of the Gruber-Degasperi Agreement in Paris on 5th September 1946 (also known as the Treaty of Paris), which guarantees the protection of the cultural identity of the German-speaking population in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, are collated in Italian in this book. The volume first presents a historical reflection on the origins of the agreement and the circumstances under which it was concluded, as well as an evaluation of the result achieved in 1946 in terms of its significance for South Tyrol's autonomy and the European peace project. Reflections on cross-border cooperation in the EU and the international protection of minorities complement this interdisciplinary anthology.
